Once again for BON24, the Western New York Welcome Center will act as a central information center on Saturday February 17, and Sunday February 18.

Registration Information: Free, no registration required.
BON participants and information tables and displays will be on site 9:00 am-4:00 pm each day.
The site has warmth, bathrooms, food, and BON information!

Explore tools for bird ID, using field marks, behavior, and observation. Scavenger Hunt follows, and two bird matching games which are available all day at the Welcome Center.

Bird Drawing and Coloring Project Drop in for a chance to participate in this project
Join staff from the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge to learn about migratory birds through art! Participants will be able to decorate their own cut out of a bird. The birds will be displayed as they’re decorated and left behind so that they may “migrate” to the wildlife refuge where each of them will be displayed on the wall together and available for pick-up!
Noon - 1:00 pm Mock Bird Banding Demonstration
Join US Fish and Wildlife Service staff to learn about bird banding and how it’s done! This family and kid-friendly program we’ll show our process for capturing birds, handling them, and show the necessary data we record! Participants will have the opportunity to engage in every part of the process. No live birds will be present.
