AWARE ASSOCIATION FOR WILD ANIMAL REHABILITATION AND EDUCATION
(Live education animals).
Join us for a visit and presentation with the Association for Wild Animal Rehabilitation and Education, with live birds and a lively discussion about rescue and rehabilitation of disabled, orphaned, and injured birds that cannot be released to the wild. Some of these education birds will be on site during this program.
AWARE is an all volunteer 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization that is dedicated to the care of orphaned and injured wildlife. The animals are used for educating the public on the dangers to Wildlife and for training those interested in becoming a rehabilitator or a volunteer.

Join Bernadette for a discussion about rehabbing our regional wildlife. Live Education Animals. WNY Raptor and Wildlife Care, Inc. will be presenting on the mission of their non-profit, sharing experiences in wildlife rehabilitation, and presenting material on their research of post-release success in rehabilitated raptors. We will have live raptor ambassadors and other exotics to educate audience members on wildlife conservation.

Creating wildlife friendly environments is important to maintaining the overall environmental health of a
community. Join BRRAlliance Executive Director Anne McCooey as she shares with you updates on The
Habitat Project that her organization has been spearheading in Buffalo, Erie County, Niagara County and
beyond as they work to create a wildlife friendly corridor spanning the length of the western NY shoreline of
the Niagara River and Lake Erie. Anne will talk about how using the National Wildlife Federation Community
Wildlife Habitat Certification format to achieve this has taken hold and the impact it is having in our
communities and region. She will share with you how easy it is for individuals to have their yards or
community green spaces certified and how important that is to the success of the initiative. She may even have a
few surprises for a few lucky attendees to help make certifying your yards even easier!

Known originally as Divided Island, Squaw Island and now Unity Island this barrier island at the head of Scajaquada Creek has experienced major changes. Come experience a walk through it’s history and enjoy its current beauty and environmental significance.
